Yes, as I said, you have unlimited travel in Zurich fare zones 110 and 121 with this ticket. Zone 110 covers the city center (see
https://www.zvv.ch/content/dam/zvv/f..._dez17_rgb.pdf). When using the ticket machine, you have to enter a station name as the destination, but all tickets are zonal.
My point about using the ATM is that since you can withdraw CHF 20, if you use it to buy a ticket at the machine your change will only be 6.40, which is probably just enough to buy one drink.
thx, after alot of searching I saw that ZRH is in the 121 zone while the city is in 110, so basically its 13.60. My gut tells me I will end up at his flat, as by the time they get home and unpack after being away 2 weeks hes not going anywhere, so I will have to use a real human to get the tkt so that I wont be left with any chf. again thx for your help I didnt want to ask him as I didnt want him end up coming to me, we are usually in the same place but hes going elsewhere this year
