Buy a "24 hour day pass" from Zurich airport station to Binz for CHF 13.60.

This ticket includes unlimited travel in Zurich fare zones 110 and 121. It costs twice as much as a single ticket so there is no point getting 2 single tickets (the same is true for all journeys in the Zurich tariff area).

Does your card work with ATMs? If the line is too long you can get a 20 franc note out of an ATM not too far from the machines. The ticket machines also take euro notes at a reasonable rate if you have any.

Good info to know THX, only problem is the change will probably be in CHF, which doesnt do me much good. Had it been in Euro it would be much better since I can always use it elsewhere unlike the CHF

My CC wont work at an ATM since I dont have a PIN attached to it but my banks DC does and I dont pay fees on either end, but same problem of being left with CHF as change.

If I was staying more then 1 night I most likely would have needed the CHF

My last time I stayed 2 nights was when Radisson gave us an extra night when using pts, got lucky as it was the end of winter parade and burning of the snowman, really enjoyed that. Anyway I went to The Titlis and used my CC for everything, met up with the same friend who took care of dinner. A great day over all

Is a tkt to/from the main train station in town also 13.60? Depending when time they get back that day maybe we will meet up in the old city for drinks instead. Wont know till I speak to him when I arrive to exactly what and where we will get together

Yes, as I said, you have unlimited travel in Zurich fare zones 110 and 121 with this ticket. Zone 110 covers the city center (see https://www.zvv.ch/content/dam/zvv/f..._dez17_rgb.pdf). When using the ticket machine, you have to enter a station name as the destination, but all tickets are zonal.

My point about using the ATM is that since you can withdraw CHF 20, if you use it to buy a ticket at the machine your change will only be 6.40, which is probably just enough to buy one drink.

thx, after alot of searching I saw that ZRH is in the 121 zone while the city is in 110, so basically its 13.60. My gut tells me I will end up at his flat, as by the time they get home and unpack after being away 2 weeks hes not going anywhere, so I will have to use a real human to get the tkt so that I wont be left with any chf. again thx for your help I didnt want to ask him as I didnt want him end up coming to me, we are usually in the same place but hes going elsewhere this year
