I'm sorry, I can’t believe that this cannot be stopped entirely by Internet Brands. I worked for a major website which earned most of its money from ads. They never would have served an ad which hijacked the user’s browser. Content businesses which want to keep their readers and value their own site’s reputation just don’t allow their users to be shown such ads.
Maybe what you’re actually saying is that you can’t get high enough CPMs without using an ad network which also serves these kinds of screen-hijacking ad? If so, that’s a business decision but it’s not a bug, it’s a feature of the ad network you’re using.
