I was just notified by the gate agent at IAD that United has iinstituted a new policy that only allows one bag on a regional flight, regardless of ticket or MileagePlus status.

I've been travel on these regionals with my suitcase in the overhead and briefcase under the seat for a few years now. I will probably end up taking the train from DC to Newark from now on.

Just wanted to let others know.
