It would be unthinkable to compare a TSA staff member to a murderous dictatorship. They are not equivalent by any stretch of the imagination.
Indeed. They are not even remotely equally evil. But that does not mean TSA is not Actual Evil. After all, US Courts have been quite firm in their desire and ability to prosecute and convict Nazi war criminals for their actions. Meanwhile, TSA gets off in almost every instance. The Germans did not re-write their laws to allow what they did, whereas the US has been quite studious in making sure that their laws give the TSA legal carte blanche.
In fact, I have been fortunate to meet many kindhearted TSA staff. But the system in place is needlessly evocative of the most unthinkable crimes.
My grandfather did say that many of the Germans he met while fighting in the Western Desert in WW2 were honourable people too.
These are no snowflakes. These are survivors of devastating, systematic state-sponsored oppression.
Yes. There's a *reason* that so many people dislike the TSA.
