Also if you've ever set foot in an AC 787 it's easy to see that their J cabin is better than what's on offer from UA on their non-Polaris 777/787s (i.e. no neighbours).

Here are a bunch of examples of AC "domestic" routes using wide body lie flats:
YYZ -> YUL (1 hr flight):

YUL -> YVR (~ hr flight):

YYZ -> YVR (~5 hr flight):

YYZ -> YHZ (~ 2 hr flight):

YYZ -> YEG (~ 3 1/2 hr flight):

YYZ -> YOW (~1 hr flight):

I can go on and on with additional routings but my head would spin!

actually UA has tons of flights where planes are being re positioned like AC, but I am not about to dig that up ( I will fly the IAD-SFO in First Class later this month as its a 777 being positioned as an example.)
UA has 20 777 wide body planes for just domestic use, and probably 20 757 with layflats for domestic use. AC has no domestic layflat seats ( perhaps some 767's) realistically most of the layflat seats domestic on AC are for positioning of the planes, same as UA has tons of those flights. As an example AC has flown 767 to NYC to accommodate passenger issues.
Back on Topic, there are lots of layfat seats going to HNL and a huge increase from years ago, there is no need to suffer AC 737's or Rouge.
