Yes but these are "domestic" planes. ( what does AC offer with layflat seats domestic? Nothing unless a plane is being relocated?
So United 777 domestic are ALSO used on short flights like EWR-SFO/LAX and SFO/ORD. SFO-IAH, etc. Next UA has 757 with layflats that do those markets plus BOS/IAH/SAN, that i am aware of.
Reality competition in US has forced the airlines to improve its domestic business class seats. UA has also added a lot of widebody flights within NA, with 10+ extra 777 being converted. its a different market, United has more 777 for domestic markets than AC has in total 777's
Its going to be interesting because UA has "run out of 757's, and its going to be a long wait for the new mid market 797 plane. I expect UA will convert more 777 international planes, to domestic planes as the new A350 start to come in.
Lets also hope being Canadians that UA will order a bunch of CSeries planes.
