And an observation of the service on the GVA-LGW, a sector of about 75 minutes :

5 rows, 19 pax in CE
1 crew member

Lukewarm-to-cold 'hot towel'

Crew member then retreated behind the curtain for 10 minutes, lots of clanking and clinking.

Then ....

Ask 1A their choice of meal (cold salad or hot croquet monsieur) and drink
Go back to the galley to prepare the food
Deliver food to 1A, return to galley
Deliver drink to 1A
Ask 1C their choice of meal
Return to the galley to prepare the food
Deliver food to 1C, return to galley
Deliver drink to 1C, return to galley
Offer breadbasket to 1A and 1C, return to galley

Repeat for 1F and 1D

Repeat for 2A and 2C etc

At the top of the descent, and the "20 to 25 minutes to landing" from the flight deck she had got as far as 3D. At this point an extra crew member appeared from economy, and the food and drink for the last 2 rows were unceremoniously bundled out between them in rapid order.

So those in the rear of the cabin had to wait an age to be served, had to wolf down their meal and didn't have time to be offered a coffee or drinks refill.

The crew member worked as quickly and diligently as she could, but you couldn't help but wonder who on earth is mandating this service methodology....
