You should definitely ask your questions here. I did 3 segments on the Hurtigruten in the July of 2016.
I came south on Hurtigruten from Kirkenes to Trondheim. Then after two nights in Trondheim, I took the train from Trondheim to Dombås and on to Åndalsnes on the Rauma Railway. Then after one night in Åndalsnes, I took the bus to Geiranger, and the bus journey included a ferry crossing. Then after two nights in Geiranger, I went north on Hurtigruten to Ålesund. Then after spending two nights in Ålesund, I went south again on Hurtigruten to Bergen.
It seems like a convoluted way to get from Kirkenes to Bergen. However, it was carefully planned because I wanted to see specific things along the way, like:
- The Rauma Railway from Dombås to Åndalsnes
- The Trollstgen road and Ørnesvingen road on the way from Åndalsnes to Geiranger
- The Geiranger Fjord on the way up from Geiranger to Ålesund
