Traveling to Korean with a one-way ticket

I'm European and I'm going to Korea next week to study Korean. Even though I'm planning on staying for one year, I only applied to study 6 months, so I have a visa d-4-1 (language student) valid for that period of time.

Do I need to buy a return ticket now or can I just tell the immigration office that I still don't have one because I might extend my visa when I arrive at the airport?
I'm a bit afraid my entry might be refused if I don't have it (I read too many stories online)
