Mostly just ignore the grumpiness as long as the service is still there. But I guess if the attitude is making me really uncomfortable then the just straight out ask them if everything is ok as they seem grumpy. In my experience, this either gets them (and most other grumpy people) talking or they'll say 'no problem' and make an effort to seem normal at least then.
