If so - the field limits the input length to the exact no. of integers in a ticket number (10) so your last three digits got cut off and that's why it wasn't a valid ticket number. Try pasting in the ticket number without the "001" prefix.
I thought I had done all that correctly, but I went back and tried again and it worked....turns out I hadn't copied the ticket number correctly (I cut off the last 3 digits myself when copying from the AA website)
