I saw a couple of threads about back-to-back reservations but none pertained to my situation...I'll try to keep it short. I originally booked only one night with points (Saturday) for a "rumored" concert in a certain city. No problem. However, after the concert was officially announced, I wanted to add the Friday prior as well with points (wish I would've booked both nights together initially..but oh well). Anyway, there are now, of course,no reward nights available FRI-SUN at the hotel. So, I ended up booking the Friday prior, separately, with $ at the Honors discount rate.

Do you think I'll be able to stay in the same room even though I have two separate 1-night reservations, one with cash and the other with points? It's the same room config and I've been Gold since 2012. Also, would it better to bring this to the hotel's attention in advance or at check-in?

Any comments/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
