DM has a much higher chance to get D released even with D0, but there is never seat guarantee for D.
For me, the seat guarantees were a very valuable feature of GO (YBHK) and DM (CJ) membership. The reduction to just Y and J were a material reduction to the attractiveness of MPC elite membership. Both my wife and I have made use of this feature in the past and were very grateful for the K and C availability on super short notice.
