Either 50k(35k+15k) miles one way for both sectors together or you can pay cash. No other options exist.
Keep in mind that if you do a cash upgrade, you must upgrade BOTH(LAX-TPE,TPE-BKK) sectors. You cannot just upgrade one(unless you paid for a stopover in TPE).
By refurbished, do you mean the ones with RL/new elite and economy/wifi? All the 777s have that now. LAX is the only destination in North America with the inferior Panasonic EX2 IFE system/no SMS roaming service/no tablet style screens in RL! If you look here:
