Noticed that the chip now appears to work at my local grocery store. It can see that it's it's using a PBOC card chip and then runs it on the discover network. I was a little surprised that no PIN was required, but perhaps it was below a threshold for that.
I believe the card was confirmed to be chip and signature a while back, with the PIN being only for unattended terminals.
