Given your frequent travels through less conventional places, your family / friends must be more used to it by now, but how did you handle their concern/worries when you first started exploring more off the beaten path / conventionally considered dangerous places?
Many thanks, lds89. I save my parents a bit of stress by not telling then until after I am safely back. A bit of a surprise though when they get a email with the subject 'Pics from Baghdad'. Makes it easier when I'm on the other side of the world to keep it secret. I tell my significant other and friends about upcoming trips, but they are immune to the 'danger factor' now after all my travels.

Thank you, camsean. Yes, the visa is a bit of a PITA. Don't think it will change anytime soon though.
