I think it depends how many pieces of luggage you have but I'd never want to take the subway with all my luggage. Either airport limousine bus straight or NEX then taxi. That's just me.
Fair point, we pack light. One duffel bag each and a small second bag. Regardless of luggage though, I would never drive from Narita to Tokyo Central. If at least take the NEX and then can like you said.
