I don't think you are missing anything. The private set up is great. In addition, they are way cleaner than the "unisex" toilets in the planes.
The only thing I noticed is that some people still don't know how to lock them properly. Although the new white capital letters say: "To lock, turn to here", on my last visit, I noticed two persons did not lock them properly and got an unexpected visitor.
