That's not true. She basically ended up flying SBY. Whenever I ask GA's "Can I get on this flight?" the answer is invariably "Sure" (unless oversold, of course). If a GA tried to charge me for SBY I'd laugh in their face!

The comp part is fishy. As I said above, UA wanted to shut her up (they paid double the
published benefit) but it's unclear why (did they screw up or did she throw a fit?).
