To me the miles traveled upgraded is the only meaningful metric and one I have used for years

If I have 3 SFO-LAX (337/500 miles) trips and 3 SFO-ORD (1,846 miles) trips

and all the SFO-LAX are CPUed and none of the SFO-ORD are, I have a 50% flight segment percentage but only 15% mileage percentage
and if none of the SFO-LAX are CPUed but all the SFO-ORD are, I have a 50% flight segment percentage but 85% mileage percentage.
Given on the long flights, I will get more benefits; food, drinks, longer access to entertainment (if desired), more time for rest, .....
The two cases, by flight segments, rank the same but mileage weighted it is a clearer indicator of benefit.

You can easily do this for GPUs, RPUs, ... also.
