They had one early on for the Apple Watch but the need for it was reduced by later WatchOS updates. Notifications show up just fine on the watch (generated by the iOS app, which doesn't always have it's act together...)

I agree there's limited value in having boarding passes on the watch, given the UX issues. If you use the iOS wallet feature for boarding passes, then these actually do show up on the Apple Watch as well.

I really just want the iOS app to have correct & timely info. The watch will get all the same info.
