This happened to me on AF at CDG when I was flying First class. Inbound regional flight late and arrives at a remote stand. Door opens and an AF agent says she's looking for Monsieur ijgordon and "only" Monsieur ijgordon. They whisk me down to the car (Mercedes IIRC) and say they're going to try and get me to the JFK flight on time. I know there were other J pax on the plane trying to make that flight as well (one person let everyone know she had to get off quickly because she had a tight connection to New York and she was in business class!). I told them I wanted to use the lounge and so they rebooked me for the next day and paid for my hotel (not sure whether I would have made the flight anyway).
So maybe a long way of saying it's not unheard of to treat certain pax "better" than others!
