Despite my best efforts and encouragement, the GF failed to go in for her Global Entry appt. So I'm thinking of zooming through, grabbing all the bags and waiting on the other side and once she clears passport control, she can *hopefully* skip the awful customs line. Or I can stand and wait with her in line gazing longingly at the GE Kiosks...single tear running down my cheek ��

skip most of the immigration line at LAX, and unlike some other airports, I believe have a separate, shorter customs line:
It worked well. There were signs advertising it all over LAX, but no signs telling you where to go. There were separate areas for us. It did help us skip that big line were everyone uses the machines to scan their passports and take pictures! You then scan the QR codes and have your chat with the CBP Agent. For some reason after getting our luggage, that final scanning machine did not want to scan my husband's code. So it was a better experience, but I'm sure it will be smoother next time.
But shout out to "Mobile Passport" we were able to breeze through customs & out of LAX in 30 min
How about just stepping up and telling her that you won't be traveling with her internationally until she takes her GE interview. Or, if you're flying through a
Global Entry Enrollment on Arrival airport, you could escort her into an appointment.
