Sure it was veal though? Around here (German/Hungarian restaurants in the U.S. and Canada), pork is often substituted, and occasionally I’ve seen it as chicken as well - sometimes the menu will say, or you can surmise which it is from the price.
That's highly unlikely in Europe though, and I suspect (purely a guess) could actually result in legal issues in some European countries that take food labeling very seriously. Pork schnitzel is a dish on it's own, known as schweineschnitzel.
