I think this is the new "brand standard" agreed to and (so far lightly) enforced by IHG. Canapés and cheese, with some exciting thrills like celery and carrot sticks. There are variations, some stick closely to the book (e.g. Berlin) some do it creatively (Kuala Lumpur) while others ignore it and continue to provide what their customers are used to (Frankfurt).
Together with the boring Agraria shampoos, all part of the consistency many wished for. Sadly, but inevitably, consistency generally settles around lower levels rather than high ones.
