they ara paid according to market supply/demand.
You may have trouble finding skilled workers to do the work if you treat them the way you propose.
AA promptly laid off countless pilots when they did not need them without much regard for "work eithic".
I am rather anti-union in general but the points you make here are rather counterproductive and only strengthen the case for having a union.
