No. When you have a segment on an aircraft with no J cabin, your bucket is usually Y (125%) for that segment. The rest of your trip will be business class (likely P = 150%). It's the same thing from YQB where I live; small hops YQB-YUL or YQB-YYZ always in Y (125%) while the remainder is P (business class = 150%).
So if I were flying YYJ to YQM, I'd be best off to go YYJ-YVR-YUL-YQM instead of YYJ-YVR-YYZ-YQM because:
a) YYJ-YVR leg is on Q400 at 125%;
b) YYZ-YQM or YUL-YQM leg is on Q400 and hence also only at 125%; and
c) I should maximize the length of the leg that is 150% eligible ie: the YVR-YUL leg as opposed to the YVR-YYZ leg, which is like 210m shorter.
I had looked at the YYJ-YYZ direct, but the increase in 150% eligible mileage over the YVR-YYZ + 250m for the YYJ-YVR leg doesn't make up for that 250m @ 125%.
