Unfortunately the original story is gone. But I still wouldn't recommend duplicating the experiment.
As mentioned upthread, I think their "experiment" occurred under pretty ideal conditions in San Francisco. I have found that their shirts will stand up to multiple wearings, like five to ten, before dry cleaning is necessary.
