If I find a hotel too expensive, I create my own C&P when necessary on multi-night stays.
i do the same thing ever since spg changed the c&p rates....before that i used c&p quite often....
later this month i have a stay coming up in nyc at a cat 5 property that is $155 for the first night & $320 for the second night....if i did c&p then it would have set me back $220 + 12k points for the 2 nights....by paying for the first night & using points for the second night its now going to cost me $155 + 12k points....
