I’m thinking EWR-HKG eventually goes 77W next year instead of staying as a 772 as the retrofit will increase the seat count to point where UA would have to consistently block seats. CX just down gauged from a 340 seat 77W to a 285 seat A350-900, so there’s some room for an upgauge. Alternatively, UA may open a 787 base at EWR, as the 787-10 will be inducted next year and some 787-9s could move from the West Coast. However, I’d give better odds those four 77Ws end up at EWR/ORD instead of SFO.
