I've seen those machines at some Holiday Inn hotels this year......yes, quite industrial. I skip on those.
I visited the Arrivals lounge at CDG 2C a few weeks ago.....nothing to add except it was quite nice. Having the showers and a real breakfast helped me push past "the first day", usually hard after a TATL flight. Plus, the relative calm is also nice.
