Because it takes 15000 HK MR to receive 1000 airline miles. 15:1

700,000 / 15 = 46666.66 if you transferred it out to an airline program whereas in the US it is 1:1.

Bottom line: Forget HK issued cards unless you really need one for whatever tactical reasons.
