I don't think one would be able to drop a HKG-TPE segment on a CX award online at AA.com. That's the kind of thing you'd need to call for. (And since it's a special exception to the award ticketing rules, it might involve more than one call...)
If it's the final segment of the PNR then you probably don't even need to call, just no-show.
