Timing of compensation EU 261
I made a claim and 2 hours late I got an email with a voucher and instructions if I wanted to choose a cash compensation rather than a voucher. Which I did.
As a data point. the cash compensation was 400 euro under EU 261 and the voucher for flights was 500. So far, I was also very impressed at how swift the process was and how fair was KLM in acknowledging the problem.
After following the instructions to apply for the cash compensation, I received an email a few days later telling me that it was approved and that I will receive a refund of 400.
This was 11 days ago but the money has not hit my account. On the other hand, the claim for the hotel expenses was in my account a few days later.
Is this normal?
