I just checked the seat maps on both flights (using SeatGuru) and it appears both are lie flat. Did you try a dummy booking on the NH website to see what they show? I wouldn't trust SeatGuru without corroboration.
Update:
I just did the dummy booking and both the NRT-KUL and HND-KUL are the 2-2-2 angled 788 configuration.
