Ah the good old "no criticism is valid unless you are actually doing it better" trope.
Hence, all restaurant critics who arent chefs are whiners, all movie critics who aren't Spielberg are just "sitting back," and no one is allowed to have a critical opinion on the products they consume unless they are a direct competitor.
This is even more nonsensical when inherent in the critique is that there are way too many blogs and events already, and that the proliferation has had the effect of diluting the few good ones out there.
