Probably to avoid the "I AM A DM" hissy fits....
(I now only fly about once every 6 weeks and at least once on every trip I hear someone who looks like an adult whining loudly about how they are DM and didn't get an upgrade. I feel sorry for the FAs and GAs getting this treatment on every flight! And yes, I have paid for a few because I know my status isn't going to get me an upgrade so I am part of your problem
