So, things like the driver get's lost and comes to pick me up at the wrong terminal, or goes to arrivals instead of departures and calls me 3 times and wastes 5-10 min, driver get's lost/misses a turn and adds 5 min to the trip, driver plays loud music, all that still gets a 5, it will take a lot for me to give a 4. So, having someone give me a 4 for no reason, maybe no tip or I wasn't making conversation, I get annoyed...
Thank you for being both sane and an excellent passenger.

That said keep two things in mind:
  1. Uber counts the last 100 trips so unless you take Uber twice a day 1 4* can sting but take forever to heal
  2. Sadly (or fortunately) Uber is driven by humans... They can take their bad day aggression out on you (just as passengers do to drivers)
Do you Uber in a city with a NYC "eff you pal" kinda attitude? What causes you to not tip 15% of the time? Do you take UberPOOL?
UberPOOL is something that no driver asked for but Uber borderline forced on many drivers. In retaliation some drivers give UberPOOL riders automatic less than 5*s. It's not against the passenger per say it's against Uber to get their attention. PS I do not do this... I also do not get POOL requests.

Lastly all those thing that you are forgiving for a bad Uber driver might preemptively down rate you in retaliation for the bad rating they thought you gave them.
