So, i just got off the phone with DL about upgrading the ATL-JNB route. It is indeed 80,000 miles. Interestingly, they kept telling me that upgrades on a Q fare are not possible. I had to literally tell the supervisor and direct her to the Delta website. Their excuse? These are recent changes.
I ended up on the Waitlist and I had to tell them that a waitlist is possible. They didn't know. This was through calling the Silver medallion line!
Is this a normal experience? I've dealt with CX, UA, and AA regarding mileage upgrades before and it's always been incredibly straightforward. This literally took almost an hour.
