I lagree with you about truthfulness...but given how many folks on FT and in the rest of the world demand instant dismissal for any airline employee who screws up at all (not on THIS thread I'm glad to see!!) one can't blame folks for perhaps saying something that sounds more.....blameless...

As to weather delays...you do realise the weather ELSEWHERE may be what delayed the INbound aircraft...right? Weathers great here right now...but if I'm waiting on a flight from Houston....well...might be SOL....

P.S. My favorite is the photo of a departure board at a Chinese airport that read.. "Flight XXX delayed for some reasons" No kidding!
