If I pay my $200 Verizon Wireless bill with my Chase debit card in the corporate store, there's two options...
1) $0.25 + 0.005% for debit (Chase splits $1.25)
2) 2.5% (Chase splits $5) for credit.
How much Verizon pays their merchant processor/rips their customers off != how much Chase gets. The latter is generally less than the former. (For example, Square charges merchants 2.75% regardless but pays much less money for non-exempt debit cards compared to credit cards and exempt debit cards.)
