Your post lists a several concerning issues for me.....I would ask you to contact Marriott customer service (either calling or using the internet page on marriott.com) and repeat the above post for them.

PS You are correct the BB's are to be given at checkin...I don't see why they would repeatedly push you on such a non-issue as giving them to you, afterall how did they expect you to use express checkout?....unfortunately Host sold this hotel within the past 12 months and the new owner did not retain Marriott as the manager of the hotel (it's now franchised)
