Did you ask or it wasn't offered? As far as I am aware there has been no change but sometimes they aren't proactively offered.
I was able to get one on my recent Polaris flight, and others have reported trying them as well, so I'd say there's almost no chance UA has removed them across the board. I've found certain posters hate UA so much that they go out of their way to describe things in the worst possible light, even to the point that it's arguably misleading.
