More bothering is the lounge policy access which is not strictly policed. When Platinum rules say “One guest only” – sorry, but I can’t understand how a whole family (parents + up to 4 children) could enter the lounge.

1) Because they travel in Business Class
2) Because two parents are Platinum or Gold and each takes one kid as a guest (in the case where it's not four kids but only two)
3) One of the passengers has ULTIMATE status and thus can bring up to 9 guests
4) If there are more guests than would be allowed by the "+1 guest" rule: because AF has started being a sensible airline. Many frequent flyers complained that they get all the treatment when they travel on business, usually alone, but don't get lounge access when they are traveling with their family.
Don't forget the paid access. This is usually how a family as described is entering the lounge. In my experience, the rules are quite well enforced for the number of guests. Before the paid access possibilities, it was relatively easy to have a an extra free guest for a platinum, while it has become close to impossible afterwards. It's only with 1 or 2 children that they are sometimes relaxing the rules and that was one of my concern when I started this thread
