Thank guys for the opinions given here. I agree with you that inexperienced travelers are a big pain also (I tend to do look for the lane with the Japanese, as G. Clooney in the "up in the air" movie
), but they are generally not bothering me that much as they usually don't have lounge access. When they bothered me much was during one of my numerous chaotic wait at 2E for passport control and when you finally almost reach the PARAFE gate after 45 min of wait, you have a party of 3 or 4 friends who want to use PARAFE but are totally unable to use them (despite the simplicity) and block all the gates for 5 minutes until they give up and go to a staffed booth
Another very annoying category is the pax who want to access a premium service despite being non-eligible (as
Zembla explained above). One of my best anecdote for that was at the AF BOS lounge 3 or 4 years ago with a woman flying in Y who was arguing with the lounge dragon that she has the right to access the lounge with her Fréquence Plus
Bleu card and she even had the card with her
. The dragon was denying access but in fact had no clue what was this card; the pax was insisting and so the dragon was nervously looking though the catalogue of all membership cards allowing lounge access. I was boiling behind and after 10 min of this circus, I decided to end it by telling everyone that this card was not existing anymore for approx 10 years, and even when it existed, it was not granting lounge access, period !
