Any FA who denies this for any reason except that the person appears to be intoxicated or there is a risk of running out of certain alcohol is, IMO, out of line.

If they want to be a nanny there is plenty of work available. As FA's love to remind people, their first priority is safety. If there is not a safety issue, or a policy violation, then they should graciously offer the pax the double drink they ordered. Part of good customer service is fulfilling reasonable requests without making a fuss.

They might also keep in mind that a "double" on board is still probably less alcohol than many drinks are served with at lots of bars around the country.
