I have tried to use the app version of my card with Lufthansa at checkin in Munich.
The agent not so politely told me that the physical card was the only acceptable proof as the electronic version in the app could have been easily forged. I protested that she could herself see the actual status *G in her system to no avail.

I always carry my physical card when flying with the Lufthansa group star airlines.
