I've seen job advertisements locally for breakfast area attendant at HIX, Hampton, and the like and it's been the usual $9-$11/hour pay instead of waitstaff pay with expectation of tips to make it up to minimum wage.
For the hotels without breakfast included, I'd expect to tip, and add in $2 or so for a buffet.
