Talking about rumours:

EK wants to start SCL before QR starts flying there.

The flight EK 247 DXB-GIG-EZE, would change to DXB-GIG-SCL and EZE would get a dedicated flight.

But once again, this is what I heard from a friend which lives in Chile.
